John married Hannah THURSTON, daughter of Moses THURSTON and Hannah JOHNSON. (Hannah THURSTON was born on 10 Sep 1744 and died on an unknown date.)

Brown Thurston says that they moved first to "Lake Memphremagog then to Ohio. Many online Family Trees say that this John Wheeler was born 31 Oct 1768 in Groton, MA. This would make him 24 years Hannah's junior. A direct descendant, Elaine Eure Henderson, says that he is buried in the Old Presbyterian cemetery in Newark, Ohio in 1815.
